"My goal is to give my clients the opportunity to be welcomed in a friendly, compassionate, and judgment-free atmosphere where they feel safe to share their thoughts and experiences freely." - Keri

At Kind Works Counseling, Keri is dedicated to helping teens and adults navigate life’s hardships, offering guidance that transforms struggle into healing and hope. With a focus on trauma recovery and family well-being, Keri’s mission is to empower individuals to cultivate resilience, balance, and a renewed sense of purpose in their lives.

Keri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences with a specialization in trauma-informed care, deepening her expertise in addressing trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.

Keri’s journey toward counseling began as the Executive Director of Mik's Hidden Hearts Alliance (MHHA), a charity she co-founded in 2010 after her daughter developed a debilitating form of dysautonomia. Through her personal experience as a caregiver and advocate, Keri witnessed the profound emotional toll serious illness can take on families. This firsthand understanding of trauma and emotional distress inspired her to pursue counseling, so she could offer others the support and healing she found so crucial for her own family.

As a trauma-focused therapist, Keri helps adults and teens process past traumas, improve family dynamics, and find the strength to overcome difficult life challenges. Her approach centers on kindness, compassion, and the belief that everyone can find peace, growth, and healing when trauma and other difficult life hardships are shared in a safe, supportive environment.  Through this healing process, Keri helps clients reconnect with their inner strength and resilience, empowering them to move forward with renewed hope and confidence.
